Still Together

I'm afraid
If I move in with you
Or you with me
We will break up the next day
We're still together
Because we don't live together
We would have to try extra hard
To make it work
After all these years
It's a chance I'm willing to take
Should you get kicked out of the closet
Should your family kick you out

My bed is here / My hand to hold
My lips to kiss / My knees to pray
A sonnet that's too honest
For dry eyes
A poet who's too in love
To realize
We're still together
Because we don't live together
But if we did
A sonnet too honest for dry eyes.
