Will I Ever Write Prose Again?


I've written so many poems of love
I wonder
If I can ever write prose again

Will I ever feel plain enough
To write ordinary stuff?
Will the love affair continue
As I pose simple queries?

Will I ever write prose again?

Prose is for clarity
Poetry when thoughts are cloudy

Prose is for a clear sky
Poetry for a lightning strike

Prose is for every day things
Poetry when the heart sings

Will I ever write prose again?

Will my heart get enough rest
To make a definitive statement?
Could I simply declare my love
Prosaically who I'm dreaming of?

That's the easy thing to do
The paved road is more smooth
But the bumpy road is more scenic
The scenery is pretty and poetic

When my heart is filled 
With so much poetry
I wonder

Will I ever write prose again?
